This is what you call being in the right place at the right time (or the wrong place/wrong time, depending on how you feel about the situation).
I was minding my own business last night walking home from the gym, past Port Authority, trailing 4 police officers on regular patrol. All of the sudden, their radios started buzzing and all I could make out is “cab” and “front of Port Authority” and I quickly realized “Oh shit! That’s where we are!” There were 3 cabs parked out the front of PA, the cops cautiously approached the first one, nothing. Approached the second one, nothing. As they crept up to the third I heard one of them say “this is it, this is it” and all four of them drew their guns (I’d never seen that before!) 2 went on one side, 2 on the other and approached the cab, tapped on the driver’s side window, pulled the door open and dragged the cab driver out, throwing him to the ground, cuffing him.
I thought about videoing, but I was legitimately concerned for my safety so I settled for this photo. Shortly after, more cops arrived and asked us to all move along, so I did. I never found out what was going on. Pretty exciting though, and this is an awesome photo.
